Paul Collingwood says that has not lost hope of playing for England in the Twenty20 World Cup in Sri Lanka.

Paul Collingwood has set his sights on regaining his place in England's Twenty20 squad ahead of this September's World Cup in Sri Lanka.

The 35-year-old was recently unveiled as captain of The New Age Impi, a franchise that will compete in South Africa's Twenty20 tournament.

Collingwood has just finished a spell in Australia's Big Bash League, where he scored 113 runs in seven innings, and bowled three overs in nine matches for the Perth Scorchers.

After his time in South Africa, the Durham all-rounder will then rejoin the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.

"I am very ambitious and motivated to try and get back in," Collingwood told ESPN

"I know I will have to have six amazing months if I want to do that though.

"England know what I can do when I am in form and I know when I am out of form, I look pretty horrible."

Collingwood skippered England to their first ever international trophy in the Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies in 2010.
