Stuart Broad to miss Twenty20 series against India with heel injury

Broad out of T20 series

England have announced that Twenty20 captain Stuart Broad will be unavailable for their series against India due to a heel injury.

The 26-year-old, who was ruled out of England's fourth and final Test against India, will miss the two-match series after scans revealed significant bruising to Broad's heel.

A statement from the ECB said: "Broad will return to the UK immediately to begin a period of rest and rehabilitation."

James Harris has been called into the squad to replace the bowler, while Eoin Morgan will take the captaincy for the series.

Meanwhile, Steven Finn has also been sent back to the UK after straining a disc in his lower back but is expected to be fit for the ODI series.
