Ian Botham has admitted that he has been impressed with the form that Joe Root is showing for England, after he notched his sixth Test century and first overseas in Grenada on Thursday.
The 24-year-old struck an unbeaten 118 as the tourists took control on day three of the second Test against the West Indies.
Root's ton is the continuation of the fine run that he has had in Test cricket since he was dropped for the final game of the Ashes series last year.
"He makes things happen, suddenly there's a tempo," former England all-rounder Botham told Sky Sports News.
"The opposition know that a batsman is out there who wants to dominate them. His record at the moment is unbelievable. Since he was left out in Sydney, he's got over 1,000 runs, averaging over a hundred."
England will resume on 373-6 on day four, 74 runs ahead of the hosts.
