England coach Trevor Bayliss: 'We haven't played to our potential in ODI series'

England head coach Trevor Bayliss says that the team need to improve as they are yet to play to their potential in their ODI series against Australia.

England head coach Trevor Bayliss has conceded that his team have not played to their potential in the one-day international series against Australia.

The hosts, who wrestled the Ashes back from the Aussies in the summer, are currently 2-0 down in the five-match series.

Tomorrow, England and Australia will go head to head at Old Trafford, with Jonny Bairstow entering the fold as a replacement for Jos Buttler.

"We certainly haven't played to our potential in the two games," Bayliss told reporters. "Australia have played well also and that makes it difficult for you to play your own game. We've got some area we need to improve in and we'll be looking to turn that around tomorrow."

Meanwhile, all-rounder Ben Stokes has insisted that he did not wilfully block Mitchell Starc's throw at the stumps during England's 64-run defeat at Lord's on Saturday.
