England bowler James Anderson has said that he doesn't see why he can't overtake Ian Botham to become the Englishman with the most ever Test wickets.
Anderson, 30, yesterday became the fourth Englishman to take 300 Test wickets with two dismissals against New Zealand at Lord's.
The three men now ahead of Anderson are Fred Trueman, the world's first to 300 49 years ago, Bob Willis and at the top of the pile Botham, who amassed 383.
After yesterday's play the Lancastrian felt that he could eclipse Botham's tally one day.
"I don't see why not," he said. "But there's still a long way to go, and I'll have to play a lot of cricket to get there. So I won't think about that. I'll just try to concentrate on staying fit."
