Broad urges England to be patient

Stuart Broad has urged England to be patient ahead of day two of the second Test match with India.

The Nottinghamshire all-rounder helped hosts England recover from 124-8 to 221 all out with a knock of 64, while India closed on 24-1 after James Anderson removed Abhinav Mukund with the first ball of the innings.

"India won three-quarters of the day, for sure, but we're right back in it and still bang in the Test," said the 25-year-old.

"We will want to make further inroads on day two but we can't chase wickets.

"The key at Trent Bridge is being patient. You bowl a fuller length, stick it in the right areas, and if you do that something can always happen."

Tourists India will resume with VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid at the crease.
