Tim Bresnan: 'England's Cricket World Cup exit a shocker'

Tim Bresnan has described England's early exit from the Cricket World Cup as a "shocker".

Peter Moores's side have no chance of reaching the quarter-finals after losing their fourth game out of five with a 15-run defeat to Bangladesh in Adelaide.

Bresnan, who has played 84 one-day internationals for his country but not featured since Moores's return as head coach, feels that England are getting "left behind".

"It's a shocker, it's difficult to justify not getting through to the quarter-finals," the 30-year-old told PA.

"As groups go you would expect to qualify from this one. But the game has moved on. The rest of the world have sprinted ahead and we've been left behind a little bit."

England's final game at the World Cup is a dead rubber against Afghanistan on Friday in Sydney.
