James Taylor boosts England chances with career-best 291

James Taylor scores a career-best 291 runs for Nottinghamshire as speculation suggests that he is line for a return to the England Test team.

Nottinghamshire batsman James Taylor recorded the highest score of his career this afternoon amid suggestions that he is line for an England recall.

Following the 405-run defeat at the hands of Australia yesterday, there have been suggestions that the likes of Gary Ballance and Ian Bell could lose their place in the England team.

Taylor's name has been mooted as a potential replacement and he responded today by scoring 291 runs during his county's clash against Sussex.

He eventually fell to the bowling of Steve Magoffin, having struck two sixes and 39 fours.

The 25-year-old won the last of his two Test caps against South Africa back in 2012.
