Cook: 'Wood likely to replace Anderson'

England captain Alastair Cook has revealed that Mark Wood is in "pole position" to replace James Anderson for the fourth Ashes Test.

Wood and Liam Plunkett have been brought into the squad after Anderson was ruled out of the match at Trent Bridge with a side injury.

England lead the series 2-1 with two Tests remaining following their triumph at Edgbaston.

Wood has taken 13 wickets in three Tests for England.
