South Africa's Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers have frustrated Australia's attack so far on day five of the second Adelaide Test.

Just 49 runs were scored before lunch, as the Proteas looked to defend their way to a draw.

With a victory target of 430, South Africa began the day on 77-4. 35 overs later that total had become 126-4.

Du Plessis, who has had two successful lbw appeals against him overturned via DRS review, is on 49 not out.

Meanwhile, De Villiers is unbeaten on 31.
