Clarke rushed to hospital

Australia captain Michael Clarke was forced into hospital on Sunday after suffering from gastroenteritis.

Cricket Australia confirmed in a statement that the 31-year-old was rushed to hospital at the weekend but was released from the Sydney institution on Monday.

Clarke, who was recently sidelined for up to 10 weeks with a back injury, is now at home making a recovery.

A statement from the body read: "Cricket Australia today advised Michael Clarke was hospitalised overnight with gastroenteritis.

"Clarke has since been discharged from hospital and CA confirms he is recovering at home."

Australia are confident that Clarke will be fit in time for the start of the Ashes.
