Arthur: 'Dropping players could be defining moment'

Australia coach Mickey Arthur believes that the recent controversy within the Test squad will prove to be a positive aspect going forward.

Vice-captain Shane Watson, Mitchell Johnson, Usman Khawaja and James Pattinson were axed from the third Test against India for failing to provide reasons for their poor form, which has resulted in two Test defeats.

"We'll look back on it in a couple of years' time when we're back to number one in the world and say [it] was a defining moment," BBC Sport quotes Arthur as saying.

Following the decision, Watson revealed that he is considering his future with the Aussies.
