Clarke: 'Whitewash is extremely special'

Australia captain Michael Clarke has described completing a 5-0 Ashes whitewash over England as "an extremely special occasion" and believes that his bowling attack is now the most feared in the international game.

Ryan Harris was the star of the show in Sydney, recording figures of 5-25, as the hosts completed a series clean sweep over England with a 281-run victory, but Mitchell Johnson was handed man of the series for taking 37 wickets at an average of 14

Peter Siddle and Nathan Lyon, who have chipped in with 16 and 19 dismissals respectively, also made vital contributions throughout the five Tests, and while Clarke credited all of his players, he reserved special praise for his seamers and spinners for leading them to regaining the urn via a clean sweep.

"It's an extremely special occasion," Clarke told Sky Sports News. "The boys cannot take enough credit. This series is an indication of the hard work we have put in.

"We have earned the tag of the best bowling attack in the world."

Clarke's side are the third Australian team to whitewash England in a five-match Test series.
