Joe Cordina: "This is a big occasion"

Wales boxer Joe Cordina is confident that he can pick up a gold medal at this summer's Commonwealth Games.

Wales boxer Joe Cordina has claimed that "there are not many people in the world" that can beat the Lightweight if he is on top form.

Cordina, who is the favourite to pick up gold in the 60kg division at the Commonwealth Games, booked his spot in the quarter-finals of the competition with victory over David Gauthier on Sunday.

"This is a big occasion for me. I have always wanted to come to a Games and I know that when I am up for it there are not many people in the world that can beat me," Cordina told reporters.

Cordina will fight New Zealand's Chad Milnes in the last eight on Tuesday.
