Jonas ready for fight of her life

Great Britain's Natasha Jonas has said that she is completely focused on the fight of her life after making the quarter-finals in the women's boxing.

Jonas squeezed past American Quanitta Underwood to become the first female boxer to win an Olympic bout for Team GB.

The 28-year-old will now face Irish world champion Katie Taylor, with a win guaranteeing the Liverpool native a medal.

Jonas said: "History and records are great but I'm here at the Olympics and I don't want to just make up the numbers.

"I believe Katie and I are two of the best boxers in the world at our weight and it's unfortunate that we have fight so early. She's the world champion but with a crowd like that I think I have every chance."

Jonas will need to improve on her 21-13 win over Underwood on Sunday if she wants to beat Taylor in an enticing quarter-final clash.
