Luke McCormack confident of beating Sofiane Oumiha

Team GB boxer Luke McCormack has said that he is confident of overcoming Sofiane Oumiha in the last-16 stage of the European Games on Saturday.

McCormack beat Panagiotis Matsagkos of Greece in the round of 32 on Thursday to set up a clash with the inexperienced Frenchman.

The 20-year-old also revealed that Team GB boxer Joe Cordina beat the same opponent last week, and he is confident of enjoying the same outcome.

"Yeah, Joe Cordina beat him last week and me and Joe are very close so hopefully I get the win," McCormack told reporters.

McCormack is competing in the lightweight category in Azerbaijan's capital city.
