Stephen Lavelle reaches heavyweight semi-finals

Scotland boxer Stephen Lavelle has reached the semi-finals of the heavyweight competition at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The 23-year-old dropped just one point with the judges as he dominated his quarter-final against India's Amritpreet Singh this afternoon.

Lavelle will face New Zealand's David Light for a place in the gold-medal match, although his last-four appearance guarantees him a spot on the podium.

Lavelle is making his Commonwealth Games debut at this event.
