Tyson Fury defeats Martin Rogan in Belfast

Tyson Fury has won the Irish heavyweight championship following a fifth-round stoppage of Martin Rogan in Belfast.

The undefeated fighter surprised many in the Odyssey Arena by adopting a previously untried southpaw stance.

Despite the new style, Rogan started the brighter, landing a number of body shots on Fury in the opening exchanges.

However, Fury grew into the fight and knocked Rogan to the floor in the third round as he started to take control of the bout.

Fury's dominance continued and the fight was stopped in the fifth round as Rogan was struck with a body shot from which he was unable to recover.
