Anthony Joshua eases to third-round stoppage win

British heavyweight Anthony Joshua recorded his 11th professional victory with a third-round stoppage of Jason Gavern tonight.

Joshua was making his first appearance since November after suffering a back injury, but the Olympic gold medallist had little problem in seeing off the American.

Gavern remained on his feet in a one-sided opener, but he hit the canvas twice during the second as Joshua targeted another quick win.

The 37-year-old survived, but only temporarily as Joshua finished the job midway through the third to set up a meeting with Kevin Johnson at London's O2 Arena on May 30.
