Bernard Hopkins has become the oldest champion of all time by beating Tavoris Cloud in New York in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 48-year-old beat Cloud on points to become the IBF light-heavyweight champion at the Barclay's Centre in Brooklyn.

In a close affair, 'B-Hop' landed with some slick exchanges in the third with the 31-year-old Cloud throwing some hard shots at 'The Executioner' in the fifth.

With the fervent Brooklyn crowd firmly behind Hopkins, he countered his opponent brilliantly in the eighth despite Cloud being the aggressor.

Perhaps thinking that the decision had escaped him, Cloud threw some combos in the 11th but Hopkins stayed firm to make history.
