Deontay Wilder: 'Money is biggest factor for Tyson Fury'

WBC champion Deontay Wilder insists that Tyson Fury wants to earn more money facing Wladimir Klitschko rather than challenging him later this year.

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder believes that Tyson Fury is more interested in a possible showdown with Wladimir Klitschko rather than facing him for his world title.

Wilder and Fury have exchanged words on Twitter with both indicating that they would want to fight each other in the summer, but the unbeaten American has revealed that he expects Fury to push for a lucrative contest with Klitschko.

The 29-year-old told 8countnews.com: "Of course the fans want me to fight Tyson Fury next. I would definitely want that fight but he's waiting for Klitschko.

"We're looking to see what happens. He's the type of guy who does a lot of talking, but he doesn't care if he wins or loses. I think the big issue with him is that he's getting paid. That's all that matters.

"I think that would be a good fight for us. We're good at sell promoting. We've been doing it for years. There is no doubt in my mind he would go down."

To keep himself in world title contention, Fury must defeat Christian Hammer on February 28.
