Scott Quigg "very hopeful" over Carl Frampton talks

British super-bantamweight Scott Quigg reveals that talks are underway regarding a world unification clash with Carl Frampton.

British super-bantamweight Scott Quigg believes that a unification showdown with Carl Frampton will take place this summer.

Quigg, the WBA champion, witnessed Frampton successfully defend his IBF strap against Chris Avalos last weekend, and the unbeaten Bury man has revealed that talks are already underway regarding a fight that could potentially happen in June or July.

The 26-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I'm very hopeful it will happen. It's the fight that I want, he wants, and what the British public want.

"If Mayweather versus Pacquaio can be made, I'm sure that me and Carl Frampton can get made. We are in talks now and they are going well. Fingers crossed that the fight can get made."

Quigg is currently recovering from a hand injury suffered in his last outing in November.
