David Price has Erkan Teper defeat changed to no contest

British heavyweight David Price sees his defeat to Erkan Teper wiped off his professional record after his opponent failed a drugs test.

British heavyweight David Price has seen his defeat to Erkan Teper in July declared as a no contest.

Teper knocked out Price inside two rounds in Stuttgart, with the loss leaving the Liverpudlian's career in tatters after two earlier setbacks against Tony Thompson.

However, earlier this week, reports emerged that Teper failed a drugs test soon after the contest, with Price's promoter Kalle Sauerland questioning why it had taken five months for the positive test to come to light.

On Wednesday, the German Boxing Board publicly confirmed Teper's offence, banning the 33-year-old, who had picked up the European title against Price, for two years, with the suspension lasting until July 17, 2017.

Price now possesses a professional record of 19 wins and two defeats, although one of his previous defeats to Thompson is considered controversial after Thompson tested positive for hydrochlorothiazide.
