Opponent named for Katie Taylor debut

Ireland's Katie Taylor will face Karina Kopinska when she makes her professional debut at the SSE Arena on November 26.

Poland's Karina Kopinska has been named as the opponent for Katie Taylor when she makes her professional debut later this month.

Last month, Matchroom Sport announced that they would promote the Irish fighter after she revealed her intention to leave the amateur ranks having missed out on a medal at the 2016 Olympic Games.

Despite that disappointment, Taylor enters the paid ranks as a five-time world champion and holder of a gold medal from London 2012, and she will be regarded as the huge favourite to get past Kopinska when she fights at the SSE Arena on November 26.

Kopinska has appeared in 24 professional outings but she has only prevailed on seven occasions with 14 defeats currently on her record.

If successful, Taylor is also scheduled to compete on December 10.
