Murray signs deal with Golden Gloves
British middleweight Martin Murray signs a lucrative three-fight deal with African promoter Golden Gloves.

British middleweight Martin Murray has revealed that he hopes to secure a fight with WBA champion Gennady Golovkin before the end of 2014.

Murray was speaking after signing a lucrative three-fight deal with African promoter Golden Gloves, and the St Helens fighter is hoping that the agreement will see him earn a shot at a world title against the highly-rated Kazakhstan boxer.

The 31-year-old told Golden Gloves' official website: "I'm made up. It's great knowing that I'm getting with someone who is going to give me some direction in my career.

"The purses are really good and they're willing to invest in me. The money is amazing, I can't believe that it's true. We're hoping to fight Golovkin in November so it's a good deal all round."

Murray, who could fight in Germany in April, has won 26 of his 28 professional encounters.
