Martin Murray eyes American debut

British middleweight Martin Murray has revealed that he wishes to make his American debut before the end of 2013.

Murray impressed during a marginal defeat to WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez in April, but the St Helens boxer is hoping that his performance could earn him an opportunity to headline in America.

The 30-year-old told Mancunian Matters: "I want to box in America, like every fighter does.

"HBO were very impressed with how I performed against Martinez and have said they'd be happy to show me again."

Murray is currently recovering from minor elbow surgery.
