Martin Murray backs Darren Barker to beat Felix Sturm

British middleweight Martin Murray believes that IBF champion Darren Barker will defeat Felix Sturm in their world title clash in Germany on Saturday night.

British middleweight Martin Murray believes that IBF champion Darren Barker can end the career of a "fading" Felix Sturm when they meet in Stuttgart on Saturday night.

Barker is defending his world title for the first time, and Murray, who drew with Sturm in 2011, has insisted that the Londoner will take advantage of the German, who is competing in his 45th professional bout.

The 31-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I'm going to pick Barker. I think that Sturm is fading dramatically.

"If you watch the Sam Soliman fight, he was shocking in the second half of the fight. His fight after that, which he stopped in four rounds, I think that the lad was completely out of his depth.

"This is Sturm's last chance. He knows that, he needs this belt, so he's going to be in the condition of his life and he's going to be ready for it, but I just think that if Barker can just stick to the game plan and take him into the second half of the fight, I think that Barker takes over there."
