Floyd Mayweather Jr. thinks that Manny Pacquiao has too many outside influences to truly re-discover his top form.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has declared that he believes Manny Pacquiao's performances have slipped because the Filipino is not completely focused on boxing.

Pacquiao suffered a crushing knockout defeat to long-time foe Juan Manuel Marquez last weekend, prompting former adversary Ricky Hatton to call for him to retire.

Mayweather thinks that 'Pac Man' is capable of mounting a successful comeback, but only if he re-commits to the sport and cuts back on a blossoming political career.

He told FightHype.com: "In the sport of boxing, you have to really dedicate yourself to your craft.

"You have to really, really dedicate yourself to your craft. I think he's got so many different things on the outside that he worries about.

"Pacquiao's focus should be trying to take a vacation, get his mind right, and get a few tune-up fights so he can bounce back. My prayers go out to the Pacquiao family. I know he loves the sport of boxing, so hopefully he can bounce back."

Mayweather is currently preparing to return to the ring in May, with Robert Guerrero and Saul Alvarez the names thought to be chasing a fight with the pound-for-pound king.
