Lennox Lewis: 'I want nothing but focus from David Price'

Lewis: 'I want nothing but focus from Price'

Former world champion Lennox Lewis has said that David Price must have complete focus if he is to succeed in his rematch against Tony Thompson on Saturday.

Price squares off against Thompson in a rematch of their February clash which saw the American stop the Liverpudlian in the second round.

Price has since enlisted the help of former WBC, WBA, IBF and IBO champion, and Lewis has said that he is not interested in promoting the bout and is instead preferring to concentrate on the fight itself.

"David was supposed to be doing a [BBC] breakfast show tomorrow morning," Lewis told the Liverpool Echo. "I told him, 'I ain't into no breakfast show, I'm into beating this guy up who has come over from America and took your title.'

"The last few days we are going to be focusing. I wanted him to be away from his house for a couple of weeks. You have to sacrifice these things when you are going to the top. It's the sacrifice of the family [but] they will understand.

"As David goes along more, he will have to sacrifice."

Price will meet Thompson at the Liverpool Echo Arena.
