Wladimir Klitschko "totally disappointed" by postponement of Tyson Fury rematch

Wladimir Klitschko admits that he is "totally disappointed" by Tyson Fury's decision to postpone the pair's rematch because of an ankle injury.

Wladimir Klitschko has admitted that he is "totally disappointed" by the postponement of his heavyweight title rematch against Tyson Fury.

The pair were due to go toe to toe in the ring at Manchester Arena on July 9, but the fight has been pushed back after Fury sprained his ankle.

The 27-year-old revealed that he has been advised to rest for six or seven weeks after hurting himself in training.

In response to the postponement, Klitschko has apologised to the fans, but remains confident that he will win the rematch.

"Of course, I am currently totally disappointed about the cancellation," The Mirror quotes Klitschko as saying.

"As well as for my fans, I'm very sorry, they were all very excited for this rematch, but one thing is also clear - this just means I'll get my belt a few weeks later."

Fury defeated Klitschko on points in their first bout last November.
