Amir Khan hits out at "pathetic" Kell Brook and his camp

Khan hits out at Brook's camp

Amir Khan has criticised Kell Brook and his camp for "making the public believe" that he doesn't want an all-British showdown.

Brook expressed a desire to take on Khan shortly after defending his IBF welterweight title against Jo Jo Dan last Saturday.

Khan has revealed that he wants to fight the Sheffield-born boxer within 12 months, but has criticised Brook and promoter Eddie Hearn for their portrayal of the current situation.

On Twitter, Khan wrote: "My team spoke to Eddie two weeks ago and he knew June 13th is a no. And they still called me out #Pathetic. This can be the biggest fight UK has ever seen and you want to do it all in two months?

"Let's say [Brook] beats a Marquez, Maidana, Rios or even stops Alexander next or any other top fighter, our fight will be even bigger. They're doing a very good job making the public believe I don't want the fight, trust me I do!

"Keep building the hype because winner takes all. I'm done, already given my word to a fighter, will be announcing my next fight very soon."

Khan is also hopeful of facing the winner of the highly-anticipated May bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquaio.
