Khan: Froch must start well

Amir Khan has told fellow British boxer Carl Froch to begin strongly in his fight against Andre Ward tonight.

Khan lost his world titles last week in Washington DC by falling to Lamont Peterson but he is hoping that Froch can restore British pride.

"I think Carl has a great chance against Ward. He's going to be up against an amazing fighter and one who's very skilful," said Khan.

Bolton fighter Khan added that Froch needs to apply some early pressure if he wants to win in Atlantic City.

"Froch needs to win the fight early and get in with some early pressure, that's the key to beat a guy like Ward," he said.

Froch, 34, puts his WBC super-middleweight title on the line while Olympic gold medallist Ward brings his WBA belt to the bout.
