Ricky Hatton has revealed that he contemplated suicide after his 2009 defeat to Manny Pacquiao.
The 32-year-old has already admitted to taking drugs after the Las Vegas fight, which was his final appearance in the ring before announcing his retirement in July.
"I was so down, I was crying and breaking out and contemplating suicide," he told BBC Radio Five Live.
"I was getting depressed. I was going out and having a few drinks. The worst thing you can do with depression is add alcohol to it.
"Everything got on top of me and it was a really horrible time in my life. I would go out, have a few drinks, start sulking and start feeling sorry for myself."
Hatton won 45 of his 47 professional fights, with 32 of those coming via knockout.
