Stuart Hall keen to secure rematch with Jamie McDonnell

Former world champion Stuart Hall reveals that he is keen to secure a rematch with WBA bantamweight title holder Jamie McDonnell.

British bantamweight Stuart Hall has said that a rematch with WBA champion Jamie McDonnell would be "an absolute barnstormer".

In 2011, McDonnell edged to a points win over Hall in a fight for the British, Commonwealth and European titles, but since then, both men have gone on to win world crowns.

Hall lost his IBF belt to Randy Caballero last October, but the North-East fighter is keen to face McDonnell for a second time, providing that he can get back to winning ways over the next few months.

The 35-year-old told Boxing News: "That's the fight I've always wanted, with Jamie McDonnell. Every time we get close to him, he pulls away again but he's had some fantastic wins.

"I just need to get a couple of good wins under my belt and then we can try and make that fight.

"He's a top lad but it's business and I think a fight between us would be great. Obviously I want a rematch because the first one was a beauty, and with the both of us getting more experience now, I think it would be an absolute barnstormer."

Hall takes on Edwin Tellez at Craven Park in Hull on Saturday night.
