Oscar De La Hoya: 'Floyd Mayweather Jr is scared of losing to Manny Pacquiao'

Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya believes that Floyd Mayweather Jr is scared of losing his unbeaten record to Manny Pacquiao.

Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya doesn't believe that a mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao will take place in May.

The two camps are reportedly in talks, with Pacquiao stating that he has agreed to all of Mayweather's conditions, but De La Hoya, who has fought both men, doesn't believe that the unbeaten American will sign to meet his huge rival.

The 41-year-old told Fighthype: "Manny Pacquiao, he already signed on his side. But to me, what I'm really thinking is that Mayweather is scared. He's scared to lose his undefeated record.

"Manny Pacquiao would give him a very difficult fight. It would be very competitive for Mayweather. But unfortunately, Mayweather doesn't want to give the fight to the public."

Pacquiao could face Amir Khan at Wembley Stadium if Mayweather decides to take a different route with his latter stages of his career.
