Dereck Chisora vows that whatever the result of Wednesday's BBBC hearing on his behaviour last month in Munich, to become the world heavyweight champion and make Britain proud.

Tainted boxer Dereck Chisora has said that he will one day become heavyweight champion of the world and Britain will be proud of him for it.

The Zimbabwe-born Londoner faces a hearing from the British Boxing Board of Control following a series of incidents in Munich last month in the build up and aftermath of his world title fight with Vitali Klitschko.

Chisora slapped Vitali at the weigh-in before appearing to spit at the Ukrainian's brother Wladimir and having a post-fight scuffle with David Haye at a press conference.

"All I want is to give my side of things and be treated fairly. But whatever punishment they inflict, I'll take it on the chin," the 28-year-old told the Independent.

"Maybe they've already made up their minds. Maybe they want to make an example of me. Everything's in God's hands. If they ban me, I'm not going to be sulking around the house. I'll still be training because I'm a fighter and I love fighting.

"I just hope they realise how sorry I am and that all I really want is for me to be allowed to get back in the ring again and do what I do best, and fight. Because I know one day I will be the world heavyweight champion and that Britain will be proud of me."

Chisora also spoke of his regret and "embarrassment" at his actions in Munich on February 18.
