Dereck Chisora could be facing a large fine from the World Boxing Council (WBC) after he slapped champion Vitali Klitschko at the weigh-in for their WBC heavyweight title fight on Saturday.

Chisora's actions were blasted by his own trainer Don Charles, who deemed them "unacceptable", while Klitschko himself claimed that it showed Chisora's "nervousness".

Now WBC president Jose Sulaiman has added his voice to the Brit's critics.

"This is definitely a lack of respect for the sport and completely unacceptable," Sulaiman told www.boxingscene.com.

"It was a cheap shot and my message is that there is a fine so he'll feel it. He's no gentleman at all and he's failed in what we expect from boxers.

"He wanted Vitali to lose control but Vitali will make him pay for this in the ring, definitely."

Klitschko has been the WBC Champion since 2004 and holds the best knockout-to-fight ratio of any champion in heavyweight boxing history.
