Boxing board asks Tyson Fury to attend meeting over 'homophobic' comments

Boxing board asks Fury to attend meeting

The British Boxing Board of Control has asked Tyson Fury to attend a meeting to discuss his recent controversial comments about homosexuality.

In the build-up to his victorious heavyweight bout against Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf last month, the Manchester-born boxer took part in an interview with the Daily Mail.

Fury seemingly equated homosexuality to paedophilia and was quoted as saying that legalising same-sex marriage is a sign that the 'devil is coming home'.

After sparking outrage with his comments, Fury has been summoned by the BBBofC to have a meeting in the New Year.

In an interview with Sky Sports News on Thursday, Fury insisted that he is not a homophobe and that he is 'uniting Christians and Muslims' in his team.
