Adam Booth dismisses speculation that George Groves will face Carl Froch.

Trainer Adam Booth has quashed talk of George Groves facing Carl Froch in the near future.

Groves has enjoyed a successful year, winning his grudge match against James DeGale and then enhancing his reputation with the knockout of Paul Smith in November.

The 23-year-old super-middleweight admits that he would relish the chance to face Froch, who lost his WBC title in last weekend's defeat to Andre Ward. However, Booth has dismissed any idea of the bout happening.

"It frightens me how little he knows and how much he's got to do," Booth told West London Sport.

"I've no doubt he'll get there, but go into a fight against someone like Ward or Froch at this stage? No.

"George is still young - he's only had 14 fights. But I guarantee you this: when he gets there, they'll be the ones who have things to worry about."

Groves had to pull out of a scheduled fight in Liverpool with a hand injury this month.
