Amir Khan has been reinstated as the WBA light-welterweight champion.

The 25-year-old, who faces Danny Garcia for the WBC light-welterweight title in Las Vegas on Saturday, was awarded the belt following the WBA's decision to declare his bout with Lamont Peterson last December a non-contest.

"Justice has been done," Khan told Sky Sports News. "I'm glad the WBA are reinstating me as champion, it means I walk into this fight as world champion.

"There is a chance to win the WBC belt as well but not only that, the Ring magazine title will be on the line as well.

"It means this fight will really show who is the best fighter in the 140lb division."

Peterson had controversially defeated Khan last year. The American then failed a drugs test, causing the proposed rematch to be cancelled.
