Ireland's Adam Nolan wins opening bout

Ireland boxer Adam Nolan has opened his European Games campaign with a comfortable win in the first round of the welterweight division in Baku.

The 28-year-old secured a unanimous points decision to defeat Alban Beqiri of Albania, being awarded all three rounds by every judge on the scorecards.

Nolan will be in action again on Saturday in the round of 16, where he will face Italy's Dario Morello for a spot in the quarter-finals.

Nolan competed in the same event at the London Olympics in 2012, finishing ninth.
