Peter Taylor: "She's like a racehorse"

Olympic boxing champion Katie Taylor is compared to a racehorse by her coach and dad Peter.

Coach Peter Taylor has compared daughter and Olympic champion Katie to a horse after her women's lightweight bout against Bulgaria's Denitsa Eliseeva.

Ireland's Taylor won her women's lightweight bout by unanimous decision.

"We knew it would be a tough fight", said her dad and coach Peter. "The other girl is a tough little warrior. She is fourth in the rankings and always gives a good account of herself.

"We needed all that time to settle in because of the journey and the time difference. If we had come over any later we wouldn't have had time to settle.

"Katie never gets bored with all the waiting around. She's a like a racehorse. She eats, rests, trains and competes."

Taylor, 28, will face Ida Lundblad of Sweden in the quarter finals on Wednesday.
