Gold, silver for England in women's boxing

Team England have got the final day of boxing action at the Commonwealth Games off to a decent start, winning gold and silver in the first women's finals of the day.

Lisa Whiteside was victorious in her clash with Northern Ireland's Carly McNaul in the 51kg category, having won all three rounds in the eyes of the five judges.

En route to the final Whiteside had taken out home favourite Taylah Robertson, who notoriously had won a medal before the Games had even begun due to insufficient competition in the division.

Moments after Whiteside's victory, Paige Murney was up for England in the 60kg division, taking on Australia's Anja Stridsman.

This time the roles were reversed, however, with Stridsman taking it in another unanimous 5-0 decision.

Sandy Ryan is the final female boxer to represent Team England on the Gold Coast, with her bout against Rosie Eccles of Wales in the 69kg final due to come later today.
