Scott Fitzgerald 'loves it' without headguards

Team England boxer Scott Fitzgerald has said that he 'loves' fighting without a headguard.

Fitzgerald got his Commonwealth Games campaign off to a perfect start with a first-round win over Ron Bastien in Glasgow on Friday.

"I love it without the headguards. You can see better, you feel better. You don't even feel that much difference with the punches," Fitzgerald told Sports Mole.

"It is maybe a bit of a danger with the head clashes, but I love it."

England teammate Joe Joyce fights later this afternoon.
