Flawless Collazo Sotomayor wins gold for Azerbaijan

Local favourite Collazo Sotomayor won gold for Azerbaijan in the men's light-welterweight division at the European Games in Baku this evening.

The 30-year-old beat Italy's Vincenzo Mangiacapre 3-0 in the final to send the home fans into raptures at Crystal Hall.

In achieving the flawless win, Sotomayor ensured that he won every single round from his five previous bouts since the Games began - 15.

Ukraine's Viktor Petrov and Sopa Kastriot of Germany shared the bronze.
