Azerbaijan handed heavyweight gold

Abdulkadir Abdullayev has won the gold medal in the men's heavyweight category at the European Games.

The Azerbaijan puncher had been scheduled to take on Ukraine's Gevorg Manukian in the final on Saturday, but the bout was unable to take place.

Manukian failed a medical with the event doctor, resulting in Abdullayev being handed a walkover.

Russian Federation's Sadam Magomedov and Croatia's Josip Bepo Filipi claimed the bronze medals.
