US women dominate basketball quarter-final against Canada

The US women's basketball team have beaten Canada 91-48 to qualify for the semi-finals.

The US opened up a 19-8 lead after the first quarter, but their dominance only increased in the second quarter as they extended their lead to 42-21.

Canada could find no answer to their opponents' all-round superiority and they were 68-31 down by the end of the third quarter.

The final quarter was a much closer affair, but the US ran out comfortable winners.

They will now play either Australia or China in the semi-finals.
