Russell Westbrook: 'I'll be a better player when I return'

Russell Westbrook has insisted that he will be a better player when he returns from the knee injury he suffered last season.

The Oklahoma City Thunder point guard tore his meniscus in April during the playoffs and a date has not yet been set by the team for his comeback.

"I'm going to come back and be better," Westbrook told The Oklahoman.

"Every season I try to come back and be a better player.

"This season should be no different. I should try to come back and be a better player, better teammate and come back and try to win."

The 24-year-old averaged 23.2 points per game for the Thunder last season.
