Cleveland has put in a bid to host the 2018 NBA All-Star Game as the city continues to enjoy an ongoing transformation.
The NBA has opened up bidding for both the 2017 and 2018 All-Star Games and it has been reported that Portland and Charlotte have put in bids for the two-year window.
Cavaliers chief executive officer Len Komoroski and CEO of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission David Gilbert confirmed that their bid has been placed, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
The return of LeBron James has helped the regeneration of the area which is set to host the regional semi-finals and finals of the 2015 NCAA basketball tournament.
The 2015 All-Star Game will be played in New York while the 2016 Game will be in Toronto as a decision on 2017 is expected in the early part of next year.
