Nikola Pekovic to miss at least a week with ankle inflammation

The Minnesota Timberwolves have announced that Nikola Pekovic will miss at least a week after being diagnosed with bursitis in his right ankle.

The center, who was injured against the Chicago Bulls earlier this week, underwent an MRI scan yesterday, revealing the inflammation.

Pekovic will stay off the court for the next seven to 10 days before having the ankle re-evaluated.

The injury comes at a busy time for the Timberwolves, who have seven games in the next 10 days.
